A useful fit for

A research-based fit for shoppers seeking the complete five-tool Nural kit and an included presentation case, if the 1.9 lb listing and fixed 120 V supply suit their boundaries.

The main tradeoff

The Nural's features require mode choices rather than stacking every benefit; the page's 1.9 lb number has no stated inclusion basis, and the US 120 V model is not documented as dual voltage.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the kit support curls or waves with an included diffuser?

Yes. The Red Velvet/Gold in-box list contains the Wave+Curl diffuser. Dyson describes separate Dome and Diffuse air modes; the result depends on hair, section size and technique rather than being guaranteed by the attachment alone.

Does the Red Velvet/Gold package include a storage case?

The exact page lists a matching Presentation case in the box. Treat that as specific to this offer and verify the case and five tools on the final seller package; a case does not make the dryer suitable for international voltage.

Does its listed weight fit a 2.0 lb screen?

The exact page lists 1.9 lb, so it passes a 2.0 lb number comparison. The page does not explain whether that includes an attachment or how the tool feels in hand.

The fullest Nural kit here, with a higher listed weight

This review is for the exact US Dyson Supersonic Nural Special edition in Red Velvet/Gold. Its product page lists five styling attachments and a matching Presentation case in the box. The page also lists 1.9 lb, which is not the same weight figure Dyson gives for some other Nural color packages. The accessible page did not show an item number, and the family code HD16 in the US manual is not a retail SKU. I did not use or test this dryer; the assessment relies on its exact manufacturer page and the shared HD16 operating guide.

Dyson lists a 120 V supply, 1,600 W, 13.3 L/s airflow, an 8.6-foot cord, four heat levels and three airflow speeds. The body dimensions are listed as 10 by 4 by 3.1 inches. The stated 1.9 lb does not have a defined inclusion basis, so it is useful only as a manufacturer-listed screening value. It cannot settle how the handle balances, whether a long routine feels tiring or whether this package is more comfortable than another dryer.

Five attachments expand the choices, not the simultaneous features

The exact in-box list names a Wave+Curl diffuser, Gentle air attachment, Wide-tooth comb, Styling concentrator and Flyaway attachment. Dyson describes the diffuser's Dome mode for enhancing natural waves or curls and Diffuse mode for adding root volume to textured curls and coils. Those are two arrangements of one supplied tool, not two separate attachments or guaranteed salon outcomes. The Wide-tooth comb is intended for detangling, shaping and lengthening curly or coily hair; the Gentle air attachment spreads airflow for close drying; the concentrator directs air; and the Flyaway tool is described for smoothing flyaways. These purposes are manufacturer descriptions, not tested results for every hair type.

The smart modes require attention to compatibility. The Nural guide supports Scalp protect with Gentle air and the Styling concentrator; it reduces heat as the sensor detects the dryer approaching hair. Attachment learning remembers settings when Scalp protect is off, so a shopper cannot treat memory and scalp protection as one combined plan. Pause detect reduces heat and airflow when the dryer is set down, but Dyson says it does not operate with a diffuser attached. If the diffuser is central to your routine, do not assume that every Nural sensor remains active in that setup.

The case is real storage, not a travel converter

The Red Velvet/Gold page names the matching Presentation case in its package list, a helpful way to store the dryer and tools together. It does not change the appliance's electrical requirements, protect it from every type of impact or establish that the kit is compact enough for frequent travel. The listed voltage is 120 V; there is no documented dual-voltage operation for this US configuration. Check the destination's supply before packing it, and do not mistake a plug adapter for voltage conversion.

The 1.9 lb figure also deserves a like-for-like comparison. Other Nural pages may show 1.8 lb, but the manufacturer does not explain whether those numbers include a cord or attachment. A difference on a product page is a reason to preserve the exact edition's listed value, not proof that one colorway is objectively heavier in use. The 8.6-foot cord adds reach but also means this is a corded home appliance. Dyson's HD16 guide calls for regular filter care; read the current guide for the monthly check and cleaning method rather than relying on a product image.

A strong fit only if the exact kit is worth its trade-offs

This package is easiest to justify for someone who will use several of the five listed tools and values keeping them in the supplied case. It is less compelling if the goal is a basic dryer, a weight ceiling below 1.9 lb, or international travel with a dual-voltage appliance. There is no independent test here to confirm faster drying, quieter operation, less heat damage, scalp benefit or finish quality. Dyson's marketing claims are not substitutes for your own routine and priorities.

Before ordering, match Red Velvet/Gold, verify all five attachments and the Presentation case, inspect the electrical label, and check the seller, warranty and return terms. The site page and this review do not claim current stock or price. Exact SKU and color-level recall status remain unconfirmed; use the label and current CPSC/manufacturer notices for those checks. If case inclusion matters more than a special finish, compare the existing Prussian Blue/Rich Copper Nural, whose page also lists a case but gives a different weight figure. If the case is not essential, the Ceramic Patina/Topaz five-tool kit has a different exact package. Neither comparison makes the editions interchangeable; check the offer in hand.
